In practice, he has long been involved in international economic relations and foreign trade, including teaching, and then worked in the insurance industry. From 1995 to 2006, he served as Secretary General of the Czech Insurance Association. From 1995 to 2006 he was the chairman of the editorial board of the Pojistný obzor magazine and since 1997 he has been the chairman of the editorial board of the Pojistné rozpravy magazine. He has published 200 articles in both magazines and hundreds more in other magazines, including online media. His publications include monographs, dictionaries (eg English – Czech dictionary for insurance) and encyclopaedia for insurance.

He has been working at the College of International and Public Relations Prague since the beginning of 2016. In his pedagogical activities he focuses on the world economy (eg. on the new global economic architecture) and European economic integration (basics of EU functioning and EU financing). At the CIPR he published the monographs Essentials of the European Integration and The New Global Economic Architecture.
